How come the amount of people who think it's cool and trendy to have gender dysphoria bothers me so much?
Gender dysphoria is a pain in the ass to deal with and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. This is why it is sickening to me to hear about Reiko and that little tranny harem that plagues /r9k/. What people don't seem to understand is that this goes both ways. If a non-transgender person were to transition when they show no signs of wanting to be that of the opposite gender then they will end up with feelings of gender dysphoria toward their assigned sex.
Yet there are people in this world who think it's cool to be transgender because it gives them some sort of social group to belong to and later end up de-transitioning because they realize that isn't who they are. It's painful to watch especially when you deal with G.D. on a regular basis.
There are times when I wish I could accept what my biology enslaves me with and regardless of how much I try to suppress such emotions and pulls. It just keeps coming back. It isn't cool to have gender dysphoria. It isn't trendy. If you go down this path and you're not someone who struggles with this then you're going to experience it later on when you realize that you have made a grave mistake.
Just needed some place to rant about this and this board seemed like the right place to do so.
