I need advice on something, I fear I may have made a hasty mistake.
I am in INCREDIBLE PAIN, as I followed, after about 5 days of heavy online research, instructions on how to band off an anal skin tag, that was once a hemmrhoid.
I am including pics if necessary, and I apologize in advance for stubble and for having a less-than-attractive setup. Childbirth and being 30 years old does that sometimes.
I am looking to improve the appearance of my anus and my vulva as much as possible DIY, before resorting to, if necessary, surgical procedures. This includes bleaching and eventually laser hair removal so I won't have to shave anymore... if there is any advice or suggestions in THAT area, I'd like to hear it.
But first, I have to remove a skin tag that has been steadily growing larger, RIGHT ON THE RIM OF MY ASSHOLE.
I am *fairly* confident that I have correctly banded it, and that I got it flush against the base, with nothing but healthy skin beneath the rubber band.
My issue is the pain and possible risks.
I was aware of the pain I'd experience, many users on multiple threads documenting their experiences were quite descriptive. It isn't as bad as childbirth or tearing from vagina to anus, but it is a unique radiating pain.
I feel it down to my right calf, I feel it inside of my vagina, and my entire asshole feels like it is simultaneously freezing cold and burning. I can't walk, sit, shift position, without excruciating pain.
I wrapped a cotton ball soaked in anbesol around/stuffed it into, my asshole, before placing the band, and it DID succeed in relieving pain--or so I thought.
This skin tag had been benignly small for about a year, but in the last 4 months it has begun growing, and becoming itchy and tender. It's also affecting my sex life and confidence, bc it makes me feel gross even if I clean myself thoroughly, it makes shaving difficult, and lately it's made sex hard, to impossible, bc any tensing or movement stung or became sore.
My husband and I researched, and first tried to tie it off with dental floss. He has been supportive, and even volunteered to do the tying and banding for me, but I can't let him bc I feel too insecure and embarrassed, and he can't stop from laughing or making jokes. It makes me laugh too, but it's still difficult. I tied it with floss, only for it to become even more painful to the point where it became difficult to wash myself or shit, but it was bearable.
I waited 3 days, even tying a second and then 3rd loop of floss, each night, tighter, but I made the mistake of not getting to the base.
Tonight, 4 hours ago, I looped a rubber band, the small kind for hair, around the cut off end of a tampon plunger (the easiest thing on hand that was large enough/small enough to place over the skin tag, flush to skin, to slip the band off and around the base of the tag), and I pinched it just enough for the band to slide off and cinch around the very base.
It stung, and then it was like a shotgun blast through my gut, asshole, and vagina, and it steadily got worse.
I almost threw up, and started panting and it was even hard to breathe. There is a constant tensing throb in my calf, it feels like it's attached to string running from my asshole down the inside of my leg.
It was horrible and it still is. Almost immediately, it went from bright pink to a grayish purplish red. I think it even started to shrink slightly.
I know it is being choked off, but I don't know if I can stand this pain. I have no access to painkillers beyond Tylenol or anbesol. I have no insurance and no means to get help at the emergency room, and no money for any prescription drugs if I got one, anyway. I'd kill a man with my toes for some Lortab or methadone right now, let me tell you.
My question is, have I fucked up? Is there any way to cope with the pain other than ice, anbesol, or Tylenol?
How do I cut this off, or will it really just.. fall off, like everyone says? How long should I wait, will this leave a scar, lump, dimple, or what?
I get my paycheck on monday, what suggestions do you have for scar cream or healing ointments that can be used around the genitals without irritation or burning? I have sensitive skin, even applying anbesol made my burn for a moment before I went numb.
And, lastly, have I been duped?have I been trolled, and do I need to risk the bill and go to the ER? Even when I had insurance, no doctor or obgyn was willing to remove it bc it was 'cosmetic', even when it occasionally became sore or irritated. Am I going to get an infection?
This pain is making me feel panicky and doubtful.
