You shouldn't really run everyday, especially not if you're running on a hard surface (i.e; a footpath).
It is really bad for your joints, particularly your knees. Even with stretching and a good diet, it's not wise to run long distances everyday it's too much of a strain on your body. You should rest at least every second day.
