Thanks for the clarification! That makes more sense but Mike Israetel has such a strange way of guaging whether or not you should raise volume. For intstance, it says if you feel a pump, you should only increase by 1 set, not two. Why would a pump mean that you shouldn't increase volume too much?

Yea the description is not very clear. But the goal is that you reach /come close to the maximum sets you can recover from (MRV)...
So basically keep increasing sets until you feel like shit after 4-6 weeks :) How you get there (1 or 2 sets per week increase) is up to you. But don't increase too hard or you will be trashed after 2-3 weeks already
